Study on the effect of fuel additive on PFI gasoline engine performance and emissions

With increasingly stringent emission and fuel consumption regulations, additives have been proved to a huge role in energy conservation reduction, new type of additive based on nitroparaffin has received worldwide attention. An experimental study was conducted with the aim developing an understanding additive’s effect 1.5L naturally aspirated PFI gasoline engine’s power performance, economy, emissions cylinder cleanliness. The results show that when fueled additive, engine increased at full load condition. commonly used working condition’s average decreased by 4.5% contour map. For pollutant emissions, unburned hydrocarbons (HC), smoke (filter number, FSN) significantly, slightly higher nitrogen oxides (NOx) compared no additive. Furthermore, use positive elimination carbon deposit cylinder.
